K&O Scott Atwater Outboard Motors

1956-1958

  • 1956 Scott Atwater 33HP

This is the first Scott-Atwater available and one of the most common. Features a detailed and complex multi-piece cowl. The motor was painted with the same green but, a brighter gold paint than seen on its real-life counterpart. Even though this is a common motor, its accurate and unique look makes this more desirable than other common models. This motor also has an “error box” that features a “30HP” marking on the cover rather than the correct “33HP”. There is also a “black-out” version which has a black bar over the incorrect “30HP”marking. These boxes are very rare and highly desirable.

    Notable Traits:

    Height: 5.5 inches

“Japan” in raised letters on lower unit

Unique and complex multi-piece cowl construction

A common motor but, more desirable than other common models

    One year only design

    2-Blade Prop

Dark green wires with red and blue insulators

Offered in a brown box with black and red Scott-Atwater graphics

Came with instruction sheet, white plastic stand and metal battery post terminals

Very rare “error-boxes” have a “30HP” marking rather than the correct “33HP”

    3 to 6 Volts

Rarity: 1/5 (with error box Rarity: 3/5)

  • 1957 Scott Atwater 40HP

With its simplistic design and lackluster decals, the 1957 model is the least desirable Scott-Atwater. Features a multi-piece layered faceplate that is usually missing the small front grab handle. The box for 1957 was updated in a green primary color with new yellow and white graphics.
